Abstract
1,257,911. Unloading vehicles by augers. H. C. ROTHERY. 30 Jan., 1969 [7 Nov., 1967; 8 Jan., 1968], Nos. 50472/67 and 1109/68. Heading B8E. Granular material is transferred to a seed drill or the like 1, from a tipping trailer 4 by an auger 7 driven by a battery 10 which is located on either the machine 1 or the trailer. The auger is integral with a hopper which is readily attachable to a tailboard of the trailer by hooks and lugs through which bolts pass. Alternatively the hopper may be attached to a board which is substituted for the tailboard of the trailer during unloading. The auger has a flexible pipe 8 comprising a canvas covered spring. The electric motor 9 for the auger is connected directly to the bottom thereof. A sliding door may be provided between the hopper and the tailboard. The battery 10 is chargeable from the tractor which tows the machine 1.
