1,256,808. Tobacco-smoke filters. BRITISHAMERICAN TOBACCO CO. Ltd. 27 Nov., 1970 [24 Dec., 1969], No. 62825/69. Heading A2C. The filters are formed from sheet filter material, such as tissue or crepe paper, that has been coated on one or both sides with cellulose acetate. The coating may be applied in a continuous or interrupted pattern on, or all over, one or both sides. A plasticizer, such as triethylene glycol diacetate, triacetin or dimethylphthalate, may be applied to the coating, and the coated paper is crimped and made into tobacco-smoke filters by a conventional paper filter-rod making machine.
