Abstract

1,256,286. Razors. H. MATSUURA. 10 Sept., 1969 [13 Feb., 1969], No. 44668/69. Heading B4B. A safety razor comprises a casing 1 having a transverse aperture 3, an endless belt 27 carrying a plurality of transversely mounted outwardly projecting blades within the casing and a knob 34 for successively positioning the cutting edge of each blade in turn in register with the aperture so that the cutting edge of each blade is exposed through the aperture. The belt 27 is moved around a roller 21 and a support plate 26 by means of gears 35 on a shaft 28 engaging with teeth formed on the belt. A plate 40 is held in the aperture 3 in order to clamp the blade against an edge of the aperture as shown in Fig. 3, the plate being retained by spring-loaded balls (43, 44) Fig. 1 (not shown).
