1,255,838. 4 - Vinylcyclohexene/maleic anhydride copolymers. BP CHEMICALS Ltd. 13 April, 1970 [12 May, 1969], No. 24004/69. Heading C3P. A copolymer comprising 4-vinylcyclohexene units and maleic anhydride units wherein for each 4-vinylcyclochexene unit there are two maleic anhydride units may be prepared by copolymerizing 4-vinylcyclohexene and maleic anhydride in the presence of a free radical polymerization initiator. In the examples 4-vinylcyclohexene and maleic anhydride are copolymerized in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile, dioxan, benzene, benzoyl peroxide and acetone.
