Abstract

1,255,835. Isostatic compression mould. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 1 May, 1969 [2 May, 1968], No. 22203/69. Heading B5A. In a process wherein rods or tubes are moulded from powder 10, which may subsequently be sintered, by compression within a yieldable tube 5 e.g. of rubber or plastics, enclosed in a chamber containing liquid under pressure, an enlarged mould part on the exterior of a mould opening has a surface 7 co-planar with the opening and a lid 8, which fits into the enlarged part, has a surface 9 inclined to the surface 7 e.g. at 45 degrees or more, to define an annular space whereby, upon compression of the mould 5, the surface 7 is slidingly displaced over the interior surface of the lid 8, so that the mould 5 is compressed to the same extent in the region of the opening as elsewhere. In the manufacture of tubes, a core is centered in the mould by lids at either end thereof.
