The length of a two-part track rod 69 incorporating an hydraulic ram 73 is controlled automatically in dependence on the position of a steering arm 70g through a second hydraulic ram 75 connected hydraulically with the first ram 73. The ram 75 includes a displacer piston with a follower engaging a cam track 80 in a sector 81 secured to the steering arm.
