Abstract
1,255,054. Measuring fluid-flow electrically. SIEMENS-AG. Feb.17, 1969 [Feb. 15, 1968], No. 8564/69. Heading G1N. The rate of flow of a fluid, e.g. gas from an infrared gas analysis apparatus, is measured by a bridge circuit including in its arms a pair of thermally coupled temperature-dependent resistive elements G1 G2, in the form of planar grids, the elements G1, G2 being spaced along and lying transverse to the direction of flow of fluid so that the upstream resister is cooled and the downstream resistor is heated. The values of temperature independent resistors K1, K2 are chosen, after selection of the resistors G1 G2, so that the bridge has the same measuring sensitivity for different ambient temperatures, with a given constant-voltage supply UK.
