Abstract

1,254,373. Reciprocating conveyers. KOHLER & BOVENKAMP G.m.b.H. 5 March, 1969, No. 11829/69. Heading B8A. In a conveyer for material in chip form a reciprocating assembly comprises main longitudinal members 6, 6<SP>1</SP> connected by intermediate shorter members 9 located in the region where a trough portion 2 connects a horizontal trough portion 1 with an inclined portion 3. The reciprocating members 9 form a chain-like assembly carrying pivoted pairs of 20 spurs and single spurs 15. Upstream of the portion 2, a reduction in the cross-section of the trough improves conveying in the inclined trough portion 3. Pivoted spurs 26 on the vertical trough walls 3<SP>1</SP>, spurs 27 on inclined walls 25 and spurs 28 on a cover 24 allow material to be conveyed forwardly but prevent rearward movement thereof. A rail 5 fixed to the bottom of the trough guides the reciprocating assembly.
