Abstract
1,159,765. Endless conveyers. LAINCHBURY & SONS Ltd. 13 Aug., 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 37628/67. Heading B8A. An endless conveyer includes a substantially horizontal disposed trough 4 forming a closed loop (Fig. 1, not shown), an endless band 7 lying above the material or objects in the trough to be conveyed and mounted to circulate along a path corresponding to that of the trough, a series of flights 5 depending from the band 7 for pushing along the material or objects, and lips 6, 6, projecting inwards from the sides of the trough over the flights 5 so as to maintain them in their effective positions along their entire path of movement. As shown, the band 7 comprises a chain formed of links 7a (Fig. 5) interconnected at 8, 9. Some of the links 7a have a depending portion 10 on which the flights 5 are bolted. The chain 7 is driven by a motor (21) connected to a sprocket 15 (Fig. 3). There may be up to twenty outlet shoots (23) at respective parts of the loop and an inlet trough 20. The conveyer may be used for delivering feeding stuff for dairy cows.
