Abstract

1,253,402. Projectile. RHEINMETALL G.m.b.H. 21 April, 1969 [1 June, 1968], No. 20230/69. Heading F3A. A projectile for practice purposes comprises a casing 1 terminating in a shoulder 7, a fuze housing 2 containing a percussion fuze device 3 and a self-destructive device 4, the fuze housing having a weakened zone 10, 11 so that upon an oblique impact of the projectile the percussion fuze device 3 separates from the self-destructive device 4 at the weakened zone, the shoulder 7 being in the form of a truncated cone so that on separation of the percussion fuze device, the shoulder glides over the impact surface thereby preventing splaying of the casing and ejection of the self destructive device.
