A method of producing a permanent image of a fingerprint, wherein a fingerprint deliberately made or inadvertently left on a surface other than that of an electrophotographic material is processed by development with an electrophotographic toner, followed if desired, by transferring and/or fixing the resulting image. This method may be used to make positive transparencies for projection purposes.
