Abstract

1,253,104. Cereal product. QUAKER OATS CO. 5 May, 1969 [13 May, 1968], No. 22904/ 69. Heading A2B. A centre-filled ready to eat expanded cereal product is produced by extruding a hot cooked cereal dough through a first die under puffing conditions, and simultaneously extruding a viscous liquid filling through a second die so positioned in the orifice of the first die that the direction of flow of the two extrudates is the same and so that the expanded cereal extrudate completely surrounds the filling, said filling being heated during extrusion, and the resultant product is cut into segments, for example by crimping whereby the filling is completely enclosed, while the cereal extrudate is in a plastic adhesive condition.
