Abstract

1,252,523. #-Glucose. TOKAI TOGYO CO. Ltd. 31 March, 1969 [6 April, 1968], No. 16685/69. Heading C2C. Crystalline anhydrous #-glucose is obtained by concentrating an aqueous solution containing glucose under a reduced pressure to a concentration of Brix 88‹-91‹ (x Brix‹ means x% by weight of solid in solution at 20‹ C.), seeding the concentrated solution with crystalline anhydrous #-glucose at (a) 85-110‹ C. using a shock seeding method or (b) 80-110‹ C. using a full seeding method, and subjecting the resulting mixture to crystal growth at 70-110‹ C., and recovering the crystals formed.
