Abstract

1,252,175. Electric correspondence control. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A. B. March 21, 1969 [Feb. 5, 1969], No. 14917/69. Heading G1N. [Also in Division G3] Apparatus for synchronizing the hoisting motors of two cranes lifting a single load includes a first selsyn 51 to the rotor, 17, of which a motor of a crane K1 is coupled, a differential converter D to the rotor 20 of which a crane K2 is coupled and a second selsyn 52 of which the angular displacement of the rotor 16 controls the speeds of the two motors by means of cam-operated switches 11, 13 and 12, 14. In use any difference in angular displacement of the two motors causes an unbalance voltage to be generated by the converter, which voltage is fed to the stator 15 of the second selsyn to cause operation of the switches. The speed control circuits are illustrated in Figs.2, 3 (not shown) and include the field windings (F1, F2) of Ward-Leonard sets for the hoisting motors. In an alternative embodiment (not shown) the operational positions of the second crane motor and the speed-control switches may be interchanged. It is stated that the slewing and/or buffing of the two cranes may be similarly controlled.
