Abstract
1,252,085. Dry cleaning liquids. DIAMOND SHAMROCK CORP. 3 Nov., 1969 [4 Nov., 1968], No. 53810/69. Heading C5D. A dry cleaning composition comprises (A) a dry cleaning solvent, (B) a tertiary amine oxide surfactant and (C) a phosphate ester of a non- ionic surfactant. The composition preferably contains 0À1 to 2À0% of the detergent mixture and 0À25 to 15% of water. The phosphate ester may be the free acid or neutral salt form of a phosphate ester of a polyoxyethylenated alkyl phenol or a polyoxyethylenated aliphatic alcohol. The dry cleaning solvent may be Stoddart solvent, perchloroethylene or trichloroethylene. Textile material is dry cleaned by contact with (1) a dry cleaning liquid containing (A), (B) and (C) and water, (2) a dry cleaning liquid containing (A), (B) and (C) alone, and finally drying and deodorizing by the passage of air.
