Abstract

1,251,905. Safety razors. GILLETTE INDUSTRIES Ltd. 25 Sept., 1970 [11 Nov., 1969], No. 55183/69. Addition to 1,163,222. Heading B4B. A disposable safety razor head comprises a double-edge razor blade 5 permanently secured in moulded plastics material shaped to leave the cutting edges of the blade exposed the plastics material applied to one face of the blade being shaped to form a guard and the plastics material applied to the other face of the blade being shaped to form a cap, the head being adapted to be detachably and reversibly secured to a handle with one cutting edge only of the blade accessible for use in each position of attachment. The cap and guard members may be secured together with the blade therebetween by means of heat sealing, ultra-sonic welding, solvent welding, adhesive or interengaging projections and recesses. The handle is formed of plastics material and provided with a spring-loaded jaw 2 for clamping the razor head in position.
