A wire hook type belt fastener comprises a longer and a shorter double hook 2, 3, each comprising side limbs 2b, 3b joined together by a transverse portion 2a, 3a over which the spike ends 2c, 3c of the limbs are bent when the fastener is secured to a belt, the hooks 2, 3 being secured together with their limbs 2b, 3b in contact, to form a quadruple hook. In Figs. 2, 3, the respective limbs 2b, 3b lie side by side so that they all lie flat on the belt surface. In Fig. 6, the limbs 12b of the longer double hook lie on top of the limbs 13b of the shorter hook when the fastener is secured to the belt.
