Abstract
1,251,311. Camera pre-selection diaphragms. PENTACON DRESDEN KAMERA-UND KINOWERKE. VEB. Jan.29, 1970, No.4329/70. Heading G2A. A camera pre-selection diaphragm operating mechanism is designed so that whatever diaphragm aperture is pre-selected an operating ram 12 makes working stroke of constant length and that the pre-set diaphragm aperture is attained at the same point in its stroke. A diaphragm ring 11 carries a pin 20 which engages in a forked end of a diaphragm lever 1, which lever has a bushing 17, rotatably mounted on a fixed pin 2, and a transmission pin 3, fixed to the bushing. A movable support 6 has a lug 6a which carries a bearing pin 8, an operating lever 7 being rotatably mounted on pin 8 and having an operating surface 23 engaged by ram 12 and a transmission arm 21 for engaging pin 3. A rotatable stop lever 9 has a stop 14 for engaging a control lug 24 on support 6 and an adjusting pin 16. A stop pin 18 is provided on diaphragm lever 1. A diaphragm pre-selector ring 4 carries a diaphragm cam 13 and on adjusting cam 15 for respectively engaging pins 18 and 16. In operation, the pre-selection of a diaphragm value by ring 4 positions lever 9 and thus support 6 so that a distance 'a', Fig. 4, exists between transmission arm 21 and pin 3. Operation of ram 12 causes operating lever 7 to have an idle stroke before the diaphragms leaves commence stopping down, and the pre-selected diaphragm is attained when pin 18 is engaged by cam 13; further movement of ram 12 causes lever 7 to rotate about its point of engagement with pin 3, which movement causes support 6 to move against the bias of a spring 10. Diaphragm lever 1 pivots through an angle 'h' to move the blades from maximum to minimum aperture; the length of the idle stroke 'a' is designed to correspond to that part of the angle 'h', viz 't', that is prevented when the intermediate pre-selected aperture has been attained. The support 6 is rotatably mounted coaxial with the optical axis as shown, or it may in the form of a lever rotatably mounted about an axis parallel to the optical axis, Fig. 5 (not shown).
