Abstract

1,251,056. Tractor hitches. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. 27 Nov., 1968 [29 Nov., 1967], No. 56248/68. Heading A1P. A weight transfer device for tractors towing implements via a drawbar 3 includes a hydraulic lift mechanism 9 having a pair of lift arms 14, a draft sensing device 6 for controlling the hydraulic lift 9, and a power transmitting mechanism 15, 17, 19 connected to the towed implement 2, the lift arms 14, and the draft sensing device 6. The draft sensing device may be a spring-biassed actuating lever 6, 7 which is associated with a draft link plunger 10, and the power transmitting mechanism 15, 17, 19 may be in the form of chains, ropes or rods, the portion 15 being connected to a bridge which links the lift arms 14. Alternatively, the portion 19 may be attached to a double-leg lever (21), one end of which is connected to the lift arms 14, the other end being connected to the lever 6, Fig. 2 (not shown). The double-leg lever may be provided with a slot (23) in which a pin (18) of the draft sensing device 6 slides, and the portion 19 may be provided with a dampening spring (24), Fig. 3 (not shown).
