Abstract
1,250,780. Feeding record tapes. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 19 Dec., 1968 [22 Dec., 1967], No. 60377/68. Heading G5R. Tape is fed from the inside of a coil, supported by a rotatable annular table 1, via a crown of guide rollers 4 mounted on a stationary disc 3 located at the centre of the table 1, an intermediate roller 8, and a driven roller 5 which is preferably conical and obliquely mounted as shown and is located within the crown of guide rollers 4, the intermediate roller 8 being displaceable by the action of tape tension against the force of a spring 12 so as to activate according to its displacement an electric motor 14 which is coupled to the rotatable table 1. When not being driven, the table 1 is engaged by a brake 25. A frictional braking member 22 engages the buffer supply of tape wound on the crown of rollers 4, and a further buffer is provided in the form of three rollers 18, 19, 20 of which the intermediate one 19 is spring-loaded.
