Abstract

1,250,675. Degreasing apparatus. UDDEHOLMS A. B. July 15, 1969 [July 17, 1968], No.35598/69. Heading C7E. Workpieces to be degreased are located in recesses 25 on the periphery of a hollow closed horizontally rotating cylinder 16 which feeds the workpieces into and out of the vapour cleaning zone 3. The liquid degreasing agent in the container is vapourized at 7 and the vapour passes into zone 3 via 12. The vapour is condensed by cooling pipes 10 and flows into zone 2 via 11. The level of zone 2 is maintained by overflow pipe 13. The workpieces are charged and discharged into and out of recesses 25 by a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder on to conveyor 28. The workpieces are cleaned by the vapour in zone 3 and also by the liquid solvent e.g. trichloro or tetrachloroethylene in zone 2.
