Abstract

125,037. Burton, C. D. Nov. 25, 1918. Gravity - feed lubricators. - A lubricator for marine engines &c. comprises a reser. voir 1, Fig. 1, containing a float 8 to which is fixed a syphon tube 10 adjustable vertically by a screwed nut 11. The oil is delivered in drops to a chamber 5 which has a valved outlet at some distance above the bottom. When the valve is closed, oil is delivered to the chamber 5 until the surface seals the end of the tube 10; this ensures a liberal supply of oil when the valve is re-opened. Oil is fed into the reservoir through a strainer 3. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the adjustment of the siphon is effected by tilting a spherical float 8 by means of weights 13. The Provisional Specification describes also a water jacket for keeping the apparatus at a uniform temperature.
