Abstract

[Also in Division G1] An optical projector-receiver device comprises a composite lens 7 formed from two coaxial lenses 7a, 7b of different diameters, a light source 19 disposed laterally of the optical axis of the lens, a plane mirror 11 arranged to reflect the light from the source along the optical axis where it is formed into an emitted beam by the outer annular part of the lens, and a photoelectric receiver 12 disposed directly on the optical axis at the focus of the central part of the lens for detecting the returning beam after it has been reflected by a reflector spaced from the device. The mirror 11 is fixed by adhesive to an inclined wall 3 integral with a support-plate 1 which carries the lens, the holder 18 for the source 19 being adjustably secured to the plate by means of screws 17. The plate 1 is adjustably mounted by screws 21 on a back-plate 20 fixed inside a box 27, the box being closed by a cover 30 having a window 33 and a sealing strip 29. The lenses 7a, 7b are of plano-convex form and are cemented together with their plane faces in contact.
