Abstract

1,249,226. Filing papers. WALTER PHILLIPS (PERIVALE) Ltd. 16 Jan., 1970 [17 Jan., 1969], No. 2861/69. Heading B6E. A loose-leaf binder for holding leaves by wires 5, Fig. 1 whose ends are clamped in channels 6, attached to respective inner faces of the spine 2, is provided with a locking member 8 which facilitates the insertion of the ends of wires 5 particularly, the last one into channels. The locking member comprises a metallic bracket 13, Fig. 2, welded to the flange of the channel and provided with lateral bent lugs which close the ends of the channel. The bracket 13 is provided with an actuator 9 which may be welded centrally or intermediate the length of the bracket such that depression of the actuator lower one or both of the lugs to expose a slot through which the wire ends may be inserted. The loose-leaves which are intended for holding photographs are formed of two superposed transparent plastic sheets 15 which are welded along opposite longitudinal edges 16, 17 to define a pocket and a tubular channel through which the rod 5 may be inserted.
