Abstract

1,248,254. Flexible hoses. USUI KOKUSAI SANGYO K.K. 26 Sept., 1968 [28 Sept., 1967; 24 Jan., 1968; 24 July, 1968], No. 45854/68. Heading F2P. A flexible hose comprises a nylon, rubber, or P.T.F.E. core tube la surrounded by inner and outer reinforcing layers 5a and 8a, the layer 5a comprising orthogonally woven strands of which the warp strands at least lie axially of the tube and consist of a metal wire core 3<SP>1</SP>a with a surrounding nylon yarn winding 10a, and the layer 8a comprises interwoven strands lying at an angle to each other and extending obliquely to the hose axis. The metal wire core 3<SP>1</SP>a is formed by a plurality of steel wires bonded together by a synthetic resin and the outer nylon yarn winding is coated with a rubber latex bonding layer lla. A nylon fabric 4<SP>1</SP>a is disposed between the core tube and the layer 5a. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), this fabric is omitted. In another embodiment, Figs. 7-11 (not shown), the inner of the reinforcing layers consists of obliquely arranged woven glass or resin fibres 3b, and the onter reinforcing layers comprises the nylon yarn wound metal warp strands and resin fibre weft strands. The whole is bonded together by rubber which forms an outer cover 6b.
