Hydraulic binders, e.g. cement, hydrate of lime and gypsum, are pulverized in admixture with water by propelling the mixture of binder and water by a worm and pressure screw against a baffle wall. Fillers, e.g. polystyrol, carbon filter ash, quarry sand, pumice dust can be added to the pulverized binder in amounts in excess of 25 wt. per cent.
