1,248,133. Gramophone pick-up arms. I. L. EISNER. 31 Oct., 1969, No. 53357/69. Heading G5R. A radially-tracking pick-up head 10 is carried on one arm 13 of an L-shaped unit, of which the other arm 15 is cylindrical and slides on an air or gas bearing in a sleeve 16. The arm 15 may include a lead counterbalance weight 20, and the playing weight of the head 10 may be adjusted by means of a weight 21 sliding on the arm 13. The turntable 1 also may be supported on an air or gas bearing, both bearings being fed by a single blower 6 driven by the turntable drive motor 5.
