Nozzle 17 projects a lumina stream across chamber 13 where it is in contact soley with the upper and lower plane, parallel, surfaces of the fuse plate 11 and cover (10), and which stream is proportioned between outlets 18, 19 in accordance with the differential static pressures applied to the sides of the stream through control inlets 31, 34, 35. The natural stream path 24 is tangential to the arcuate path 27 through outlet 19. In a modification Fig. 5 (not shown), the amplifier has a third outlet (44) symmetrical with outlet 19 and the control inlets extend through the baseplate. The Specification sets out optimum dimensions for the various parts of the amplifier and discusses the relationship between sizes, pressures and deflection of the stream.
