Abstract

1,246,923. Earth electrode. H. WATANABE and S. GENMA. 5 June, 1969 [15 Nov., 1968; 30 Dec., 1968], No. 28417/69. Heading H2C. Earth electrodes are manufactured from metallic wire 22a or strip 22b in the form of a helix or a spiral. An electrode is provided with a conductor wire 24a, 24b attached to the upper or outer end and an inwardly bent or cylindrical engaging member 26a, 26b attached to the other end, to suit the slotted or reduced diameter end respectively of a driving rod 52. The rod is withdrawn after the electrode has been driven into the ground, where the electrode assumes a helical form, allowing a conductive solution poured in at the upper end to penetrate into the soil through the spacings 28a in the electrode.
