Abstract

1,246,274. Two-stage servovalves. HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd. Nov. 22, 1968 [Nov.30, 1967], No.54636/67. Heading G3P. A reverse-acting two-stage servovalve, suitable for use in an anti-skid aircraft braking system, has a first stage consisting of a jet tube 13 pivoted at 17 and actuated by torque motor 11 through arm 19. An oil film damper 20 is attached to the jet tube and the latter sets up a control pressure in receiver 15 which is applied to one end of second stage spool 22. The latter provides an output pressure at 25 by connecting the latter with input 27 and exhaust 28, and responds at its right hand end to supply pressure acting on piston 29 and output pressure acting on piston 30. The output pressure falls linearly or non-linearly as the electric control signal rises.
