Abstract

1,245,876. Triamcinolone derivatives. ROUSSEL-UCLAF. 22 July, 1969 [23 July, 1968], No. 36704/69. Heading C2U. The invention comprises triamcinolone 21-msulphobenzoate and alkali metal salts, organic base salts, 16-esters, 16,17-ketonidesandsalified 16,17-ketonides thereof. The salts are prepared by reacting a triamcinolone 21-sulphonate with a double salt of m-sulphobenzoic acid, and are convertible to the other inventive compounds by known methods. Triamcinolone 21-(mesylate or tosylate) is prepared from triamcinolone 16,17-acetonide via triamcinolone 16,17 - acetonide 21 - (mesylate or tosylate). The inventive compounds may be made up with carriers into pharmaceutical compositions for oral, parenteral and topical administration.
