Abstract

124,574. Marks, E. C. R., (Aktiebolaget Lidkopings Mekaniska Verkstad). March 27, 1918. Straightening. - Wire is straightened when drawn from a spool 13 by passage through a series of drawblocks 1, the holes in which are only slightly larger than the diameter of the wire, the blocks being mounted in a tubular support 3 rotated by belt and pulley 6. The blocks are adjustable by screws 2 so as to make the wire take a helical path of high pitch. The spool is. supported in a fork 12 carried by a casing 5 independently rotated by a spur wheel 11 to prevent twisting of the wires. Wedges, set-screws, or other means may be used in place of the screws 2 to adjust the blocks.
