Abstract
1,245,632. Tipping containers. VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE A.G. 31 Oct., 1968 [3 Nov., 1967], No. 51749/68. Heading B8E. [Also in Division F4] Apparatus for tilting ladles about a tilting axis extending through the trunnions 4 of the ladle, comprises support means for the ladle, a crank 9 mounted for pivotal movement about a trunnion axis 10 extending in the same direction as the tilting axis and having means 17 for engaging the ladle to tilt the ladle when the crank is pivoted, and an hydraulic cylinder and piston assembly 11 connected between the crank 9 and a support bearing 14 to cause pivotal movement of the crank. As shown, wings 12 are connected to the bearing 14 and to the trunnion 10, and the operation is controlled by a second piston assembly 15. In other embodiments the wing 12 is mounted eccentrically of the tilting axis on a separate trunnion 20 provided on a stanchion 2, the auxiliary cylinder 15 being either present (see Fig. 5) or missing (see Fig. 3) in which case stops (21, 22) are provided. In a further embodiment, the end of the cylinder 11 supported in the swivel bearing 14 is readjustable horizontally in guiding means (30, Fig. 6).
