Abstract
1,244,941. Rollers. MOTORENUND TURBINEN-UNION MUNCHEN G.m.b.H. 12 May, 1969 [10 May, 1968], No. 24170/69. Heading F2U. A rotor comprises a hollow metal cylinder 1 fixed within a glass fibre reinforced plastics sleeve 2. Due to the higher strain at yield stress of the plastics the rotor can be pre-stressed by spinning at a speed to cause plastic extension of the metal which is then compressed elastically as the rotor stops rotating.
