1,244,840. Pesticides containing 2-S-alkyl pyrimidine derivatives. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 30 Oct., 1968 [4 Dec., 1967], No. 55060/67. Heading ASE. [Also in Divisions C2 and C4] Pesticidal and fungicidal compositions effective against, e.g. aphids, white butterflies, mustard beetle, caterpillars, houseflies, root knot nematode, red spider mite and diamond back moth, contain as active ingredient compounds I wherein R signifies a hydrocarbon group, R 1 and R 2 signify H or hydrocarbon groups or together with the adjacent nitrogen atom signify a heterocycle, A is a saturated or unsaturated, unsubstituted or substituted bridging group of from 3 to 5 atoms and X and Y signify O or S. The preparations are suitably in the form of dusting powders or granules, dispersible powders or grains, liquid preparations (usually aqueous dispersions or emulsions) and aerosols; fertilizers and other biologically active compounds may also be included in said preparations.
