Abstract

1,244,599. Disc brakes. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. 9 July, 1970 [12 July, 1969], No. 33341/70. Heading F2E. A device for preventing corrosion of the brake disc 1 of a motor vehicle disc brake during transport or storage of the vehicle, comprises a support 6 securable adjacent the disc and holding a porous material, capable of being impregnated with a corrosion inhibitor, against the disc. As shown, the support 6 of resilient wire is hooked over the brake support pin 3 and includes an end 12 rotatably mounting a roller 14, of felt or foam material, enclosed in a housing 15 serving as a reservoir for a corrosion inhibitor such as oil. The porous material may, alternatively, be in strip form.
