Abstract

1,244,592. Amidoxime - o - carbamates. E.I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. 7 Jan., 1970 [8 Jan., 1969; 12 Dec., 1969], No. 885/70. Heading C2C. Novel amidoxime o - carbamates of the Formula I wherein R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 3 to 12 carbon atoms, and each of R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different is H or C 1-3 alkyl, the sum of the carbon atoms in R 1 and R 2 not exceeding 3; and acid addition salts thereof are prepared by reacting amidoximes of the general Formula II with alkali metal cyanates, or with C 1-3 alkyl isocyanates of the formula or with carbamoyl halides of the formula wherein X is halogen. Pentanamidoxime is obtained by reacting valeronitrile with hydroxylamine hydrochloride. Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for oral or parenteral administration and having antihypertensive activity, contain the above novel compounds or acid addition salts thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or diluents.
