Abstract

1,244,235. Spray producers. ATLAS COPCO A.B. 10 April, 1969 [19 April, 1968], No. 18459/69. Heading B2F. A spray gun comprises a housing 11, nozzle 16, means 15 for supplying coating material under pressure to the nozzle, a coating material valve 19, a source of fluid pressure, a fluid pressure activated servo motor 25 in the housing, servo piston means 27, 28 connected to the coating material valve for reciprocal movement between first and second positions to close and open the coating material valve, means in the motor for maintaining unidirectional bias force on the piston means, a supply passage 37 in the housing connected to the source of fluid pressure, an exhaust passage 50, 51, a control valve 45 connecting the supply and exhaust passages and the servo motor and movable between first and second positions for connecting the motor to the supply or exhaust passage to cause movement of the piston means against or in the direction of the bias force, a branch passage 38 between the supply passage and the motor, and a setting valve 39 in the branch passage, whereby the piston means may be permanently arrested in the first position to close the coating material valve. Pressure fluid may pass from branch passage 38 to blowing opening 52 for cleaning of a workpiece before spraying.
