1,243,856. Seals. TRIST MOULDINGS & SEALS Ltd. 15 April, 1970 [14 May, 1969], No. 24672/69. Heading F2B. A wiper seal comprises a wiper ring 1, e.g. of rubber, and a more rigid retaining ring 11, e.g. of nylon or polyacetal, the rings being of substantially L-shaped section for mating engagement. The ring 11 may be push-fitted into a rebate 15 of a seal housing 16, an inclined face 14 engaging ridges 7, 8 around the wiper ring 1, while a lip 6 sealingly engages a piston-rod 17 or the like.
