Sedimentation apparatus comprises a tank enclosing an array of parallel, inclined baffles 2, defining spaces 3 therebetween, an inlet 6 opening into each space 3 and the part of each space above the inlet being subdivided by further baffles 7 into spaces 8, clear liquid overflowing from the tank at outlet 5, concentrated suspension leaving by outlet 4. Several such units may operate in parallel. Baffles could be slightly relatively inclined.
