Abstract

1,242,866. Polybutadiene polyurethanes. EVOMASTICS Ltd. 13 June, 1969 [20 May, 1968], No. 24036/68. Heading C3P. A liquid polyurethane prepolymer is prepared by reacting a diol with an organic diisocyanate in an amount such that from 2 to 4 equivalents of isocyanate groups are present per equivalent of hydroxyl groups, said diol having a molecular weight between 2000 and 3000. The prepolymer cures on exposure to the air and is used as a sealant. The compositions may also contain plasticizers such as chlorinated hydrocarbons and bitumen. The urethane reaction may also be promoted by an organo-tin compound. The exemplified diol is polybutadiene diol.
