Abstract

1,241,951. Couplings. MOTOR GEAR & ENG. CO. Ltd. 19 Aug., 1968 [22 May, 1967], No. 23724/67. Heading D1T. The end portions 10, 11 of a wire cable passing around a drum 12 are connected to a joining member 16 by universal joints 17, 18 the joining member 16 contacting the drum 12 and holding the ends of the portions 10, 11 spaced from the drum 12. The end portions 10, 11 may be secured in ferrules 14, 15 that are tangential to the drum and extend from the point where the associated end portion leaves the drum surface. The joining member 16 may have a cylindrical outer surface.
