Abstract

1,241,245. Cleaning Venetian blinds. F. DURST. 11 July, 1969 [12 July, 1968; 14 May, 1969], No. 34945/69. Heading A4F. A device for cleaning Venetian blind slats comprises a housing 2 having an inlet opening 3, an outlet opening 5, first and second sets of slat clamping rollers 7a, 7b, first and second sets of cleaning rollers 12a, 12b and spray means 18-20 for directing cleaning fluid against a slat moving between the cleaning rollers. Each of the lower rollers 7a, 7b carries a sprocket 8 to enable the rollers to be rotated by a chain 9 and a motor 11. At least one of the rollers 7a, 7b has a rubber surface. The cleaning rollers comprise brushes rotated by a chain 13 and a motor 14, the rollers 12a having harder brush bristles than those of the rollers 12b. Brushes 16A, 16B, are also mounted on partitions 16a, 16b in the housing. A pump 22 driven by a motor 21 withdraws cleaning fluid from a tank 23 and sprays it into the horizontal slat guide channel 18. The cleaning fluid which collects in the housing 2 is returned to the tank through pipes 24.
