Abstract

1,240,799. Measuring magnetic fields. VARIAN MAT G. m. b. H. March 5, 1969 [March 13, 1968], No. 11792/69. Heading G1N. [Also in Division G3] A Hall plate magnetometer is provided with thermal stabilization in a manner which does not interfere with the output signal. In Fig.1, the Hall plate 1 is mounted within an electrically non-conducting non-ferromagnetic plastics sleeve 3 through which a cooling fluid is circulated by a pump 6. The temperature of the cooling fluid is controlled by a device 7 receiving a set value signal U s and an actual value signal U 1 from a temperature sensor 9. A control current regulator 14 and output voltage indicator 12 are provided. Alternatively, Fig.2 (not shown), the Hall plate may be surrounded by a high frequency heating coil (15), a filter (17) being provided to remove high frequency interference from the output signal. The Hall plate may be provided with a handle (19) Fig. 3 (not shown) carrying a connection head (20) for the regulation and indication components.
