Abstract

A pipe spacing and supporting system for wall mounted pipe runs comprises pipe connecting sleeves provided on at least one side with a coupling piece, and spacing members of a plurality of different lengths fitted at each end with a complementary coupling piece into which the coupling pieces of said sleeves may engage. In one embodiment the connecting sleeves take the form of tees, elbows and the like, comprising a pipe insert 1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP> embedded in a synthetic outer casing 1<SP>11</SP>, 2<SP>11</SP>, 3<SP>11</SP>. The casing is provided with at least one coupling piece 5 comprising a T section rail which can engage and slide into a groove 6 in the end of a spacing member 4<SP>1</SP>. Various lengths of spacing member are provided, and may be affixed to a wall by screws 8. To assist positive location of coupling pieces 5 in grooves 6 a tongue 9 on the coupling piece engages a lateral groove across the groove 6. To prevent undue play between the assembled parts, projections 11 on rail 5 resiliently engage the base of the groove 6. The extension 12 on the connecting sleeve assists insertion of a pipe during erection and may be easily removed thereafter. In another embodiment no tongues 9, projections 11, or extensions 12 are provided.
