Abstract
1,240,248. Stencils. G. W. HEINKE. 14 April, 1969, No. 19094/69. Heading B6C. Cylindrical printing screen 10A consists of woven wires, reinforced by electrolytically deposited metal, and was made by stretching a wire mesh on a flat frame, depositing metal electrolytically on at least one side of the mesh, so that the wires are united where they touch in crossing, and forming the reinforced mesh into a cylinder. End rings 20 are secured by an epoxy glue, or by soldering, and abutting ends 17, 18 are secured by a further electrolytically deposited layer of metal or by soldering. When the screen 10A is in use it is secured in a printing machine by bolts in holes 25 and a squeegee inserted. Tensioning bars 23 fit into slots in the rings 20 while the screen 10A is not in a printing press. The screen 10A may be from 325 to 40 mesh and may consist of stainless steel or phosphor bronze, reinforced with nickel.
