Shuttles.-In order to prevent the weft from forming snarls as it leaves the shuttle eye, the eye 2 is located in a groove 8 having an extension 3 inclined upwards and forwards, and an extension 4 behind the eye turned downwards, hooks 6, 7 being secured in the extensions. A pad 9 of soft material may be provided under the point of the hook 7. The weft from the eye is led over the hook 6 and under the hook 7.
