Abstract

123,769. Savy, E. L. A. Sept. 4, 1916, [Convention date]. Bottles, jars, and cans, drying.-In apparatus for drying bottles, cans, jars, &c. after washing, the articles are placed on nozzles 6 supplied with hot air by a fan 5. The nozzles are mounted on a removable plate 7 forming the top of a hollow tray 8 adapted to be slid into and out of the upper compartment 1 of an insulated casing and having openings registering with branches of an air-supply pipe 12. By the arrangement of pipes and dampers shown, the air may be continuously circulated through both compartments, being heated by steam pipes 4 and discharged through the nozzles, or fresh air may be admitted by the pipe 15, heated, and discharged, or fresh air may be drawn in at 11 and discharged, without heating, for cooling the bottles to permit handling. An exit pipe 13 serves for carrying off moist air, and is provided with an hygrometer 16.
