Abstract

1,236,968. Filing papers. E. CAPOVILLA. 7 Oct., 1968, No. 47377/68. Heading B6E. A device for attachment to the edge of a sheet or the like to permit the sheet to be retained on a closed filing ring comprises two elements placed one upon the other, each element having a hole registering with the hole of the other element and a slit staggered in relation to the slit of the other element. The two elements may be formed from a single strip 1 folded at 9, each half of the strip having a hole 2, 3 from each of which a slit 8, 12 extends, the slits meeting at the fold 9. The device is applied to a sheet 4 or the like, which sheet is formed with a slit 5 coextensive with the region delimited by the slits 8, 12 and the fold 9. The device can be pushed on to a ring (not shown) if the device is orientated at a small angle to the plane of the ring. The slits may have various conformations. The device may be formed of plastics material or of sheet steel (Fig. 5, not shown) with a brass rim (38) for attachment to the sheet. One of the two elements may comprise the sheet itself.
