Abstract
1,236,591. Humidity transducer. P. ROCKLIFF. Jan.31, 1969 [Jan.19, 1968], No.2910/68. Heading G1N. A capacitive transducer for measuring humidity comprises two aluminium wires a, b Fig. 6 anodized over part of their length, the anodized portions being twisted together whilst the untreated portion of one wire is covered with an insulating plastics sleeve c over which the untreated end of the other wire is wound. The twisted wire sensor is covered by a tube # with axial slits, and the wire ends are brought out to a coaxial plug g. The aluminium oxide coating constitutes a hydroscopic layer as well as an insulator, to vary the capacitance between the wires with variations in humidity.
